A new way of working

One of New Zealand's few
truly virtual
law firms.

Progressively moving the legal work online — so you can get a quote, give us your information, and complete your legal documents from wherever you are. At your own pace. In your own time. Or visit us in Auckland or Rotorua if you prefer. Your choice, every step.

From the firm

“The best legal work doesn't need an office. It needs lawyers who listen, and time to think.”

Ross Holmes  ·  Managing Director

The idea

What “virtual” actually means.

Most legal work doesn't actually need you to sit in an office. Getting a quote, giving us your information, answering questions about your family or your property, preparing documents, receiving drafts to check — all of that can happen online. For most clients, it's faster and easier that way.

We're rebuilding the way we work around this. Over time, every stage of a typical matter will be available online — from your first quote through to the documents you sign. You move at your own pace. You pause and come back. You never sit in a waiting room.

Same lawyers. Same quality. Different way of working together.

Virtual vs the traditional way.

The practical difference — for you.

Working on next

We're working on full online questionnaires for several more services — so eventually you'll be able to complete everything we need to draft your documents online, without a meeting:

  • Will-based estate plan questionnaire — to complete your will, enduring powers of attorney, healthcare directives, funeral wishes and digital assets list online.
  • Trust-based estate and asset protection plan questionnaire — for the trust deed, memorandum of wishes, deed of gift and related documents.
  • Probate application questionnaire — for executors who want to prepare their probate application online.
  • Personal law questionnaires — for contracting out agreements (often called “pre-nups”) and relationship property agreements.
  • Business law questionnaires — for company formation, shareholder agreements, and other common business documents.

Until each one is live, we handle that work the traditional way — with one or two short meetings to gather what we need.

For everything else — personal law, business law, seniors law, estate administration — we work the way we always have: carefully, in plain English, face-to-face when it helps, online when it doesn't. Our virtual tools are there to make things easier for you, not to replace the lawyer looking after your matter.

Your questions, answered.

What most clients want to know before they get started.

01

Can I still meet you in person?

Yes — always. We have offices in Auckland and Rotorua, and many clients prefer to meet us face-to-face at key points. Virtual is the default, not the rule.

02

Is it secure?

Your information is held in secure systems and shared only with your authorised team. We verify your identity online using the same AML/CFT standards as any other NZ law firm.

03

Is it cheaper?

Our fees are fixed and published upfront — and often less than traditional firms because our working model is more efficient. Pay within 7 days and you also get our discounted rate.

04

How does signing work?

Most documents can be signed electronically with full legal effect. For documents that still require pen and paper — wills and enduring powers of attorney — we send them to you with clear instructions, or you can sign with us in person. Your choice.

05

How fast is it?

Most clients get their quote within minutes. Property transactions, estate plans and probate applications typically move faster than traditional firms because there are no scheduling delays.

06

What if I'm not confident online?

Call us. We'll walk you through anything by phone, Zoom, or in person. You're not on your own — the online forms exist to help, not to replace us.
